Data and analysis shared widely for the benefit of better living – what a wonderful marketing concept that is! I was blown away by some charts I found cruising around border crossing info today.
WSDOT, a fine service of the State of Washington, put border crossings – a fact of life for those of us who live in the Pacific Northwest – into clear and understandable charts.
I’ve long been a fan of the work of Edward Tufte, Garr Reynolds, Stephen Few, just to name some of the great thinkers in the area of data presentation. Is the WSDOT info at that level? Not yet.
But what it does do is remind us all that sometimes the most appreciated information is that which is freely offered but allows us to make our own choices better.
While not a traditional “marketing post” there is a good learning here. Happy Saturday and happy border crossings to all!
