mymuesli2go shows the future of “advertising”

by Ann on July 14, 2010

The future of what used to be the province of high margin advertising agency creative departments is shown in this new ad from mymuesli2go: talent remains, iPhone 4 serves as film and editing equipment, and a very high quality funky ad clearly showing the product’s portability remains.

mymuesli2go, a tv commercial – filmed and edited on an iPhone 4 from Max Wittrock on Vimeo.

I remember my first commercial shoot – an exhilaring experience much like a mini-movie.  I look at the creativity of this piece and its immediacy and impact, and for that matter, high quality, and I think that there is much to be said for carrying your next :30 spot on your iPhone. This spot is everything my first “mini-movie” was and more.

How will this change our marketing world?  Well, with every 15-25 year old I know currently able and skilled at editing their own mashups of video, sound, and original content, it means that any person in this age group you hire is capable not only of flipping the burgers or writing the code you hired them to do but also create your next :30 spot.

And potentially, given some of the drivel being produced by major advertisers today – more impactful, more current, and more interesting creative and messaging than we’ve seen in a long time.

Thanks to Springwise, for as always, providing great insight into things happening NOW.
